hmm, well that was certainly an event-filled episode. a 3 month-long timeskip and not much happened that didn't take just a few minutes of 'backstory exposition' here and there to cover.

since this season is supposed to have 15 episodes, we technically passed the halfway point in ep7. i doubt the assault on the fortress is going to take seven episodes to complete. so, we'll have to wait and see what kinds of tricks the anime writers and (if this part is in the game) what the game's writers have up their collective sleeves.

We'll just have to find out. I'm predicting that battle would probably done in 1 to 2 eps at most and finish up with a mid arc.

Logic errors in this show continue to accumulate. In the recent episodes I see 2 ma They abandon their trained military personnel during the ongoing war for no reason except give princess char manpower for her army.

Most weird IMO are "consumerism baiting" for Sidr, where they shown living in pods while humans have large living spaces in their flying shelter and eat various dishes. Realistically large open space with houses would'we made huge structural weakness and dramatically increased construction costs so any kind of such ship had either ship-like cabins or submarine like hot bedding. Of course growing food takes too much space and resources, so they likely switched to hydroponics or synthetic-protein-based foods with supplements, so humans consumption levels would've been like shown in Sidr bases.

And that statement in the end:
"I want to find path where Sidr coexist with earthling".

Even if we drop that during the wartime this reeks of collaboration with the enemy, what's the plan if Earth drop the possible alliance after the main Sidr faction are defeated, and will try finish of Sidr for good? Back to plan A - "all-out war for survival", but in weakened by the internal strife state? Of course this is simplistic black-and-white morality story and it will not happen in the show.

Chekhov's gun from beginning of season, introduction of another alien humanoid faction coming to Earth, sure was written to make both sides to have a common enemy to cement their alliance for the series finale, but IMO it is pretty lazy plot point.

This anime is entertaining enough, although at this point I'm just here for Arshem and Yamato. I don't even care about the plot devices anymore, but if they end up killing one of those two, I'm gonna hate it for the rest of my existence.

Btw Teru telling Yamato that aliens and humans can form a family is just so sweet? Like, Yamato lost his family thanks to the aliens and yet he's so apparently helplessly in love with one of them... I live for this drama lol
